Do you translate into English as well?
Yes. Most professional translators are committed to translate only into their mother tongue. But my inverse translation service also includes proofreading from a native English-speaking professional. This alternative is less risky than going for a native with no professional training in Translation.
Why should I choose you instead of a translation agency?
If your project is not designed for being translated into dozens of languages, it’s actually in your interest to appoint an independent professional:
- Save translation costs. Translation agencies are intermediaries. They often add some fees to manage the project (10% on average) and to make profit (20% on average). Hiring a translator means cutting out the intermediary and pay less for the same service.
- Receive a personal and flexible service. Choose a versatile professional that can quickly adapt to your specific needs.
- Work with an expert. Gain peace of mind because your project is handled by a well-trained and experienced translator.
How do I send you my document? How will you return it to me?
You can send me your document to my email address. Send an email to email@example.com with your file attached. For too large files, write to me and we’ll find a solution.
How are the translation costs calculated?
I don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach to your text. Each one is evaluated on (i) the word count of the original document (VAT excluded), (ii) the type of document, (iii) any obvious repetitions and (iv) the format and legibility of the document.
Once the rate per word is determined, the total number of words is multiplied by the final cost per word. Example: 2,000 words x €0.05 / word = €100.
Do you have a minimum charge?
Yes. I normally have a minimum charge per assignment with invoice of €20. If your document is quoted at €0.05 per word and you want to translate 400 words, price would start at €20. But if you had 200 words, or even 20 words, price would still be €20.
For regular clients (5 assignments or more), I can adjust the minimum cost for simple or quick projects.
I have a long text, do you give volume discounts?
I do often give some discounts to clients that have worked with me in 5 projects or more. Usually 350 free words per 10,000 words translated.
What currencies are available for payments?
You can pay in EUR (€), GBP (£) or USD ($).
How will I pay you?
I accept the following payment methods:
Clients bear the cost of any charges incurred in any of the payment processes.
I don’t want any surprises, is there any additional fee?
Not really. The final price including taxes is fixed before I start working on the project. Thanks to the simplicity and transparency of my process, you know how much you’re paying from the beginning to the end.
The only surcharge will apply for urgent services or for work outside of standard business hours.
Availability and Deadlines
How long will it take to translate my document?
I can translate approximately 2,000 words per day on average for general projects. Specialised texts may require in-depth research. This additional step will be reflected in the deadline and final project cost.
Your free quote includes the delivery date and time.
I need this urgently. What can you do?
